Position Objective
The Crew Leader/Harvest Manager is responsible for managing crew members to carry out all production and harvest needs, while maintaining high standards of quality and striving towards maximum efficiency. This position is the main point of contact for all crew members and is responsible for maintaining work flow each day.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
• Ensure crops coming in from the field meet quality standards.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to crew members throughout the day for both harvest and crop
production/maintenance tasks based on to do list compiled by Production Manager.
• Provide crew members with field training and verbal feedback concerning work performance.
• Maintain quality, speed, and efficiency of field crew’s work.
• Communicate with other managers regarding crop quality and availability.
• Maintain detailed harvest and production records as needed.
• Responsible for tractor operating during harvest.
• Establish harvest order and schedule, including coordinating movement of food to packshed.
• Maintain and enforce policies and procedures.
• Report on any cultivation and crop health issues to Production Manager.
• Maintain harvest tools and equipment (knives, snips, greens harvesters, etc.)
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.


• Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of two years prior experience managing on a 15+ acre vegetable farm (organic highly
• Experience managing staff
• Excellent observation, organization, and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects
• Understanding that tasks that are weather/soil moisture dependent must be done to keep production
on schedule and will often require additional hours beyond a standard work week.
• Excellent leadership skills to direct a crew of 1-15 people.
• Computer efficiency in basic programs (email, excel, word, etc.)
• Must be flexible and able to prioritize an evolving task list
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds

• Experience using Basecamp program
• Tractor operating experience
