The University of California, Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR), California State 4-H Youth Development Program (YDP), a University division with statewide development and delivery, is seeking an Academic Coordinator II to provide 4-H leadership to the California 4-H YDP.

In support of the 4-H Extension-Military Partnership with the Department of Defense and the military service branches (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine, Coast Guard, National Guard and Reserve) the 4-H Military Partnership Academic Coordinator is responsible for providing overall direction for implementation of U.S. military multi-faceted cooperative programs with USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA). This program is designed to work with all branches and components of the military in California to address child and youth development issues, to include health and well-being, personal and social competence, cognitive and education competence, preparation for work, leadership and citizenship.

The 4-H Military Partnership Academic Coordinator serves as a link between the state extension program, military service branches in the state and 4-H Headquarters in the Institute of Youth, Families and Community (IYFC) at USDA NIFA. The focus of the 4-H Military Partnership Academic Coordinator is to coordinate, network and facilitate programs and resources working with a variety of partners at the university level, military partners and other partners across the state in support of military families, children and youth programming.

A minimum of a Masterís degree is required although other advanced degrees are encouraged, with a background in a discipline related to youth development, education, public administration or a closely related field.

This is a term position. The performance in the position and the funding support for this position will be evaluated annually. The merit cycle for this position will be evaluated every two (2) years. The position will be extended based on both performance and availability of funding.
