Professional Production Manager for Swine Company
Management Responsibilities: The Production Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, evaluation and operation of managed sow farms and the farm managers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Manages and directs various farm management teams, by leading meetings, communicating company direction and reinforcing implementation of policies and procedures
•Ensures all standardized programs are fully implemented at the farm level
•Ensures company farm managers can and are effectively leading, organizing and managing their workforce for optimum performance
•Ensures staff issues are identified quickly, the appropriate people involved and the issue dealt with effectively
•Ensures safety procedures in farms are in place, constantly reinforced and action taken to lower accidents, incidents and injuries•Counsels farm managers in proper production techniques and handling of employee situations through timely and periodic visits
•Evaluates performance of all subordinates supervisors and managers
•Ensures subordinates are properly trained to perform their respective responsibilities
•Schedules necessary repairs and maintenance projects and controls costs within budgets
•Ensures preventative maintenance programs are performed as necessary
•Reports and explains monthly and quarterly production and performance
•Analyzes and implements improvements in production techniques
•Oversee system wide concerns including waste management programs, transportation and purchasing programs (feed, supplies, LP, etc.)
•Review production goals with farm managers and assist with problem solving
•Responsible for hiring of new employees to ensure all farms are fully staffed
•Review weekly breeding groups with client farms and managed farms
•Communicate all productions or disease concerns for any farm to veterinarians
•Oversees deliveries of sale animals
•Review summaries and analysis of production data
•Oversees the financial performance of the farms by controlling costs, budgeting & monitoring financial statements
•Coordinates and oversees completion of special projects
•Oversees farm bio security and ensures farm employees are adhering to it
•Sets production goals for farm and department managers
B.S. degree in Animal Science or equivalent OR a minimum of 5 years sow farm management experience.

•Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, excel, Outlook) and software specific to swine industry
