Territory Agronomist will provide technical leadership, product positioning, and train-the-trainer training to the sales team and dealers in an assigned geography. Understand and communicate local and regional markets and cropping systems, the technical and commercial positioning of products including value determination and demonstration, the development of technical solutions to local issues and the technical and agronomic training and education of the internal sales organization and external dealers. Must have strong communication and people skills to enable cross-functional interactions with Sales, Marketing, and Technology Development organizations.
Provide Commercial product positioning and training for sales team members and leader/developing dealers to assist with their sales calls. Includes helping sales force overcome customer challenges by providing product positioning guidance to assist our customers maximize their return on investment with our products
Conduct agronomic training for sales team members and leader/developing dealers
Participate and present at key dealer meetings, farmer meetings, and field days
Coordinate and plan practical, on-farm plots that demonstrate value to large growers
Coordinate on-farm demos to encourage trial use of our products
Evaluate and elucidate the benefits of Monsanto products in grower production systems
Make effective agronomic recommendations which provide clear grower value
Assist with performance inquires requiring advanced agronomic and product knowledge (Seed Service Calls)
Provide technical leadership for demand forecast process which determines products and product mix for local sales team
Work with and develop business relationships with specific top producers in assigned territory


Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, plant breeding, weed science or related field plus 5 years experience in a general Agronomy or seed industry
MS or PhD preferred
Demonstrated experience in hybrid or variety field testing, demonstrated ability to effectively present technical information, experience training/educating others on technical material
Strong communication, sales, and customer relationship skills
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds on an as needed basis
Salary: 40K -60K
