As an Investment Analyst you will be an integral part of this exceptional company which is currently managing over $800 million in private equity investments in agricultural real estate. The Analyst will be responsible for three main areas: transaction underwriting and analysis, data collection and research and regulatory compliance. The position requires a solid understanding of and genuine interest in agriculture, a firm grasp of investment strategy and financial analysis, and general knowledge of farmland investment management. The Analyst will work closely with the President and/or Vice President of FMS as well as one of our largest clientís Director of Asset Management. Strong research, communication, and writing skills are key qualities. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate proficiency in analytical thinking and a willingness to take ownership of and expand project-oriented work with limited oversight and information. The candidate must be a self starter, but comfortable sharing projects and working with multiple business areas. An undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or agriculture is required. A willingness to travel is also required.

Responsibilities:
-Perform research for Company, used for making investment and/or divestment strategy, replant or sell decisions, and provide general farm economy analysis.
-Prepare investment memorandums, covering transaction underwriting, due diligence, and analysis, for potential acquisitions.
-Assist with lease tracking, monitoring, and compliance and database management as requested.
-Assist with the farmland acquisition and disposition process, including physical due diligence trips, closing documentation, legal reviews, and some negotiations.
-Assist in the management of the current properties, including annual and quarterly property-level operating and capital budget decisions, property management strategy, land stewardship, gathering harvest and yield information and property inspections.
-Prepare presentations, financial analyses, management memorandums, and other documents for the President and/or Vice President on an ad hoc, project basis.
-Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal water coalition agencies, OSHA, EPA, and APR.
-Liaison between President and Vice President and Farm Safety officers.
-Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
4 year college degree (Farm Management or Agricultural Business preferably).
Proficiency in all Microsoft applications, especially Excel.
Must be able to work well with management.
Must be able to communicate well with others.
Valid driverís license.
