POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for supervising lab and quality assurance personnel as they monitor the plants conformity to customer specifications, finished product integrity, and food safety. Duties include:
Supervising daily activity of QA employees: training, work methods, scheduling, and performance appraisals;
Directing the implementation of experimental projects, and assigning and supervising work for the project;
Preparing QA reports;
Working with the sales department on new product development;
Advising the sales department and other plant employees on product exceptions.
EDUCATION: 4-year degree required; Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Food Science or similar disciplines preferred.
2+ years of quality assurance and supervisory experience;
Knowledge of the agricultural production and manufacturing industry;
Knowledge of agricultural product refining and processing;
Experience in chemistry and lab testing techniques and procedures;
Proven ability to train, instruct, and motivate employees;
Skills in negotiation, conflict resolution, problem solving, prioritizing, and decision making;
Skills in communication, technical report writing, computer software, and mathematical principles.
