Job Description
The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held organization, with roots firmly planted in agriculture and agriculture-related businesses. These endeavors have been around for centuries and will continue to be a vital part of the global economy. We currently have an HR Coordinator I/II position open at our Lathrop, CA facility.

Overview:
This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative support for Human Resources covering several or all of the following areas: HRIS data input and maintenance, employee files, payroll processing, time and attendance record keeping, new hire orientation, service awards, and special events.

Essential Functions:
• Completes HRIS data input for new hires, job transfers, promotions, address changes, terminations, retirements, benefit changes and other HR-related changes. Maintains accuracy of all HRIS data.
• Maintain employee records in data management system including new hires, terminations and personal data changes. Maintains and monitors employee employment files in compliance with all Federal, State, Local regulations and Company policy.
• Processes weekly employee payroll entering any requests, adjustments or changes as needed to ensure hours worked for regular, overtime, double time and paid time off hours are accurate. Distribute paychecks. Run reports and prepare check requests related to payroll. Interacts with Payroll on pay issues.
• Assists with administration of transitional return to work, FMLA and STD programs. Maintains employee vacation and absentee records. Assists employees with straightforward HR-related questions.
• Assists with new employee orientation, including benefits and handbook orientation. Coordinates with the Employee Service Center (ESC) on open enrollment packets and follows up on required information from employees. Handles unemployment and verification of employment requests.
• Maintain administrative and plant bulletin boards with internal communication notices and Federal State, Local and Company required postings. Reconcile vendor invoices.
• Coordinates and orders service awards. Assists with organizing special events and training. Assists with research and recommendation of community events where Simplot may be interested in participating, advertising and/or donating.
• Represents Company at job/career fairs, along with others. Coordinates United Way, Adopt-a-Family, Outerwear and Blanket Drive, campaigns, documentation, and donations.
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information as defined by regulation or company policy.

Skill / Experience Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; College degree in Human Resources, Business or related field a plus; or equivalent combination of education, experience and or training.
• Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of related work experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; JDE experience preferred.
• Travel may be required.
• Valid driver’s license.
