Job Duties:
Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
Level earth to fine grade specifications
Plant, cultivate and irrigate crops
Harvest crops
Fertilize and spray crops
Detect disease and health problems in crops
Mixing and apply fertilizers
Weeding
Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
Examine product for quality and its readiness for the market
Clear and collect brush and debris from fields and other work areas
Clear fields of wood and stones
Organize tasks to accomplish the work
Perform general farm duties, including but not limited to building maintenance, machine maintenance, and shop cleaning.
Drive farm trucks including tandem axil
May drive semi tractor trailer units
Requirements
Education: No minimum education requirements.
Experience: A minimum of 12 months of experience is required. On-the-job training will be provided.
Experience operating essential farm equipment—including a combine harvester, tractor, swather, and air seeder—is mandatory for this position due to the nature of the work.
Driver’s license Class 5 is required
Driver’s license Class 1A is an asset

Salary: $24.98 hourly – Minimum of 30 hours per week.
Benefits: Accommodation provided at a discounted rate. The employer will provide transportation to and from the off-site housing to the work location when necessary.
Important Information: Flexibility on schedule is required depending on the business needs and weather.
The employee will be guaranteed a 30-hour workweek. During busy seasons, where extra hours beyond the 30-hour work week are required, these additional hours will be banked. In slower seasons when there will be fewer hours, these banked hours will be used to meet the 30-hour workweek requirement. At the end of their term, any remaining banked hours will be compensated.
